In our latest Q&A blog, we meet Jo, our Project Manager based in Manchester. Jo supports our clients with event delivery from concept to completion, across virtual, hybrid and in-person events.
Tell us about your journey to Duuzra and why you chose to join the team?
I started my events career as a wedding planning in 2018, where my passion for events began. During the pandemic, I was furloughed but was able to put my love of event planning into working in a care home for people living with dementia. As the world started turning back to normal, I found myself wanting a role in the corporate industry and found my love for webinars and in-person events. When I discovered the position of Project Manager at Duuzra and the chances it presented, I was compelled to take on the challenge.
What do you enjoy most about being a Project Manager at Duuzra?
We have a great team spirit and extremely talented people that always make you feel supported and empowered to take on any challenge. As a keen traveller, I also enjoy visiting places all over the world when delivering in-person events, so far i’ve been to France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland.

What motivates you to be the best at your job?
My daughter, Eadie, I would like to think my motivation will encourage her to have the motivation to achieve her dreams.
An influential person in your life who has made you who you are today and why?
My husband Tom, who has always encouraged me to achieve my goals and supported me when needed most.

What are some of your passions or interests outside of work?
Having coached my daughter’s team, managed an open-age squad, and played the sport myself, rugby league is my passion outside of the workplace.
